Trio Teneramente formed in 2019, and has been having concerts ever since. We are: Jelena Cingara piano, Kishan Chouhan clarinet, and Stuart Mutch cello. This season so far by June we have already completed 5 concerts, with various exotic and eclectic repertoire, such as Johannes’s Brahms’s Trio Op. 114, Marko Tajcevic’s 7 Balkan Dances, and Astor Piazzolla’s Four Seasons for Buenos Aires. In addition to CHAMBER MUSIC CONCERTS TORONTO being performed, we perform pieces for solo instruments on our concerts as well. Upcoming performances include TORONTO CONCERTS at the Heliconian Club, and a GROUPMUSE, and in 2020: in March at Caledon Chamber Music Series, and in May in Sunset Music and Arts Series in San Francisco, California. Kishan Chouhan clarinet

Multi-instrumentalist, conductor, music director and music educator Kishan Chouhan received his B.Mus. in Clarinet Performance from the University of Toronto, and his MA in Music with research in multiple woodwind performance from York University. Notable and accomplished teachers he has studied with include: clarinet with Miles Jaques, David Bourque, Steve Pierre and Peter Stoll, flute with Peg Albrecht, Nina Martini-Dorey and Sara Hahn, oboe with Wendy Bornstein, Monica Fosnaugh and David Sussman.

As a performer, Kishan is in demand for his skills as a proficient woodwind multi instrumentalist, playing piccolo, flute, all clarinets, all saxophones, oboe, English Horn and bassoon with symphony orchestras, wind ensembles, opera companies and most notably, theatre pit orchestras across Toronto and the GTA. He has held orchestral principal positions in orchestras on each of the woodwinds he plays. Kishan has also recorded woodwinds for short films and has film credits in his name. Kishan assistant conducted the Rouge River Winds ensemble in 2015 and assistant music directed the Canadian premiere of “If/Then” the musical in 2018. Kishan was a Musician-in-Residence at the Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity in Early Fall 2018 where he had the opportunity to collaborate with up-and-coming Canadian artists, and record plenty of clarinet and bass clarinet on recitals and other songwriters’ tracks.

Stuart Mutch cello

Stuart Mutch began cello studies in Calgary at the age of 13 with John Kadz. He received additional training in the Calgary Youth Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra of Canada and the AFM Congress of Strings at the University of Washington. He has been a member of the Calgary Philharmonic, the Windsor Symphony, the Toronto Philharmonia and the North York Concert Orchestra and continued his studies in Toronto with David Miller and Winona Zelenka. He was a member of the Sunrise String Quartet for 14 years and has had extensive chamber music experience in a variety of ensembles. Mr. Mutch is a lawyer and mediator and is presently is an adjudicator with the Immigration and Refugee Board.
